OHIP

Children, 19 years of age or  younger are covered for routine vision examinations every 12 months. Referrals are NOT required to schedule an appointment. Please contact our office for further details. 

Seniors, 65 years of age or older are covered for routine vision examinations every 18 months. Referrals are NOT required to schedule an appointment. Please contact our office for further details.

OHIP does not cover vision examinations for individuals between 20 and 64 years of age. Following exceptions do apply: 

• Every 12 months coverage for individuals with health disorders that affect eyes (e.g. Diabetes,): With a family doctor referral, appointments may be scheduled and the examination may be covered by OHIP. Please contact our office for further details. 

If you are not covered by OHIP for a vision examination according to the above guidelines, please contact our office for details on coverage through insurance plans, Ontario Works, ODSP (Plan Code C,D,E), Veteran Affairs and Native Affairs or to learn more about our fees-for-services.
